Mediation

Trained volunteer mediators are available to assist residents, businesses and organizations in resolving their disputes.

Disputes may be referred to the CRJ Center by agencies, organizations or the parties themselves. Mediation sessions are normally held at the CRJC during regular working hours, but other arrangements can be made when necessary.

Mediation is a preferred way to resolve a dispute when disputants are going to have an ongoing relationship and want to avoid the cost and delay of going to court. Typical types of disputes suitable for mediation are landlord/tenant, neighbor/neighbor, employer/employee and school/student.

Mediation sessions and the agreements that come out of them are strictly confidential.
