The State recognizes the need to develop community partnerships for individuals leaving the correctional facilities to successfully transition back to the community. This program is meant to support the provision of transitional housing, rental assistance, housing search and retention, and other supportive services for individuals released to the community from correctional facilities.
The CRJC is funded by the Department of Corrections to run a transitional Housing Program for men and women getting out of prison and reentering into the community. Two housing coordinators work with clients by offering supportive services with a focus on independent, stable housing after leaving the program. The CRJC has 5 different housing locations with a total availability of twelve beds.
